Braden Chiaramonte Picks Up 11th and 12th Place Finishes in Chico, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA: Competing in 410ci winged action over the weekend in Chico, CA, Braden Chiaramonte overcame a little adversity each night as he recorded 11th and 12th place finishes.

“Friday night I felt really good, but we got put into the wall on the start of the race and had to go to the work area which ultimately put us behind,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “Saturday night, we got behind early in time trials and then fought a bit of a tight car. I got over the edge at one point in the feature, but we still were able to battle back and pass some cars.”

Friday night opened the weekend up at Silver Dollar Speedway as the El Cajon, CA driver timed in eighth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, Chiaramonte laid down the hammer when the green was displayed and never looked back. Picking up the win, the youngster moved into the redraw where he pulled the four and lined up on the outside of the second row.

The Friday night feature got off to a tough start, and on the second attempted start a fellow competitor sent Chiaramonte into the front stretch wall and forced him into the work area.

Able to restart, Chiaramonte was now at the back of the pack and had his work cut out for himself. With the track mainly bottom dominant in this race, Chiaramonte did a nice job of working his way back to a 12th place finish.

Back in action on Saturday night, Chiaramonte just missed the heat race inversion, which drastically changed the look of his night as he timed in 17th fastest in time trials.

Finishing fifth in his heat, he punched his ticket into the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial feature event, as he lined up in the 17th starting position.

Battling a racecar that was on the tighter side, Chiaramonte spent much of the first portion of the race battling in 17th and 18th before he hung his right rear off the edge of the track and spun into the turn four soft wall on the 21st lap.

Going to the work area to make repairs and adjustments, things worked out for him as he was able to rally from the back amidst a chaotic final twenty laps.

Working his way forward, Chiaramonte was able to cap his night off with an 11th place finish.
