PETERSEN MEDIA: Back in Chico, CA on Saturday night for the David Tarter Memorial, Tanner Carrick put together a solid night with the Northern Auto Racing Club as he tallied a sixth-place finish in the feature event.

With 27 cars checked into the Silver Dollar Speedway pit area, Carrick got his night kicked off by timing the CVC/Cemex/TC Guide Service backed No. 83T in fifth quickest in qualifying time trials.

With his qualifying effort, Carrick lined up on the front row of his heat race and was able to power into the lead when the green flag was displayed. Leading from start to finish, Carrick locked himself into both the 35-lap David Tarter Memorial feature event, as well as the Dash to set the first three rows of the ‘A’.

Lining up third in the HD Ti Dash, Carrick’s fourth-place finish put him outside the second row to get the feature event underway. When the race came to life, the first 12 laps went non-stop as Carrick ran in the fifth spot.

Moving into third when the action resumed, Carrick slipped back to fourth on the 18^th lap as the leaders found the back of the field. Falling back to sixth on a lap 24 restart, Carrick got into fifth on a green-white-checkered-restart but on the white flag lap he once again found himself back in sixth which is where he went on to finish.

“Overall, we had a good car from qualifying through the feature event,” Carrick said. “A couple restarts didn’t quite go our way, but I was happy with how we felt as we head into this Speedweek.”
