PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night in Santa Maria, CA, the 2026 NARC schedule resumed and Chance Grasty picked up another Top-10 with the series as he recorded an eighth-place finish.

“We kind of struggled in time trials which has typically been a strong suit for us, and with how the track was it essentially dictated the rest of the night,” Chance Grasty said.

A lighter than normal car count for the series made their way to Santa Maria Speedway and the Suisun City, CA driver timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply backed No. x1 entry in seventh fastest in time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Grasty initially jumped into second as the action came to life, but a slight miscue saw him fall back to fourth. Hanging on to a fourth-place finish on the extremely fast surface, Grasty was slotted to start ninth in the feature event.

When the race went green, the surface was still extremely fast and narrow and didn’t allow for much passing. Able to take the eighth spot over on the opening lap, Grasty settled in as the entire field made quick laps.

Going green to checkered in just over six minutes, no restart opportunities presented themselves and with passing essentially nonexistent, the youngster closed the night out with an eighth-place finish.

“It wasn’t really the night we were hoping for or looking for after a couple of weekends off from NARC, but it has us really looking for a little redemption this weekend in Watsonville, CA,” Grasty noted.
