Landon Brooks Scores Fifth and Sixth Place Finishes During Fall Nationals Weekend

PETERSEN MEDIA: Landon Brooks and the Hamilton Racing with Tiner Hirst Ent. team were in action over the weekend at Silver Dollar Speedway for the Fall Nationals where Brooks finished sixth on Friday night before a fifth place run to close the weekend out on Saturday.

“Our weekend at the Fall Nationals went pretty well overall,” Landon Brooks said. “For whatever reason, our qualifying struggles continue but we can race well and we were able to pass cars on a track that was narrow and fast both nights.”

Kicking Fall Nationals weekend off on Friday night, Brooks timed the Lippert Construction/THE/Mozingo Construction backed No. 21L entry in 12th fastest in his flight with 45 cars checked into the pit area.

Lining up in the third row of his heat race, the Rio Oso, CA driver had a very strong heat race as he powered his way to a third-place finish which moved him into the opening night feature event and placed him in the 13th starting spot.

With the track staying fast and narrow through the night, Brooks was able to do what many struggled to do as he began passing cars as the race came to life. Up into ninth on the third lap, Brooks used a restart on lap five to move into eighth.

Racing into seventh on the seventh lap, Brooks moved into sixth on the 10th lap as the leaders raced in heavy traffic. Looking for a spot in the Top-10, Brooks battled with Tanner Carrick and Justin Sanders in the final laps of the feature, but when the checkered flew he crossed the finish line in sixth.

Back in action on Saturday night for the Fall Nationals finale, Brooks timed in eighth fastest despite feeling something go awry under the hood of his car which prompted an engine change.

Able to make the swap before his heat race, Brooks picked up a fourth-place finish which then put him in the 15th starting position for the 35-lap A Main event.

Just as he did on Friday night, Brooks began working his way forward as soon as the action came to life. Jumping into 13th on the opening lap, Brooks continued to forge ahead as he raced into the Top-10 on the fourth lap.

Once he got into seventh on the 11th lap, he settled in as the next eight laps clicked off until the first stoppage of the night came on the 19th lap.

Jumping into sixth on the restart, Brooks moved into fifth on the 22nd lap as he chased after fourth running Austin Wood.

Battling with Wood for the final four laps of the race, Brooks capped the weekend off with a fifth-place finish.

“I really want to thank the Hamilton family, as well as my Tiner Hirst Ent guys for the great car we had in both features,” Brooks noted. “We were able to pass a lot of cars and come away with a couple of good finishes.”
