Braden Chiaramonte Battles World of Outlaws in Hanford, CA and Ventura, CA
PETERSEN MEDIA: Returning to action last week, Braden Chiaramonte battled with the World of Outlaws in Hanford, CA on Tuesday night in his family car, then climbed aboard the JFM No. 73 on Saturday night to take the series on at Ventura Raceway.
“I felt like I had pretty good speed in both cars last week,” Braden Chiaramonte said. “Tuesday night we ultimately fought a motor issue that ended our night, and Saturday I got caught up in a couple of issues that ended up damaging the JFM car in the feature.”
Checking in at Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA on Tuesday night, Chiaramonte got off to a solid start as he timed his family-owned entry in 12th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Finishing fourth in his heat race, the El Cajon, CA driver was locked into the feature event as he was slotted to take the green flag from the 16th starting position.
Unfortunately, as the race came to life Chiaramonte felt something off under the hood of his car and made the decision to pull back into the pit area and call it a night.
Getting the call later in the week to pilot the JFM No. 73 on Saturday in Ventura, CA, Chiaramonte met up with the team and took on ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt’ in their first ever appearance at the famed facility.
Timing in 18th fastest in time trials, Chiaramonte picked up a seventh-place finish in his heat race which put him in the 21st starting position for the 40-lap feature event.
On the tight confines of Ventura Raceway, Chiaramonte made contact with a spinning car on the race’s opening lap and it caused damage to his front end, but he was able to continue on.
As the race clicked along, another issue saw Chiaramonte endure contact to his left rear which did force him to the work area for repairs. Able to make repairs and return to the track, Chiaramonte was able to pick up a few positions as he closed the night out with a 19th place finish.
“I really want to thank Jimmy May and all of his team for the opportunity to run for them and take on the Outlaws,” he added. “I wish it could have gone a little better, but was happy with how things felt in our first time working together.”
BY THE NUMBERS: Starts- 24, Wins- 1, Top 5’s- 5, Top 10’s- 11
ON TAP: Chiaramonte returns to racing action on Saturday night as he will take on NARC in Tulare, CA.
