Sean Becker Third at Adobe Cup
PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night, Sean Becker and Monhoff Racing reunited for the first time since Labor Day Weekend, and picked up a third-place finish with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour in Petaluma, CA at the track’s annual Adobe Cup.
“It is always a great time racing with Dan Monhoff, and I am grateful he wanted to get another Adobe Cup in together,” Sean Becker said.
Timing in 11th fastest on a very tricky Petaluma Speedway surface early in the night, Becker lined up in the third row of his heat race. Getting a great start when the green flag was displayed, ‘The Shark’ pounced and picked up a fourth-place finish which put him in the fourth row for the 30-lap feature event.
Slipping back to 10th when the race came to life, Becker was patient as he let things come to him. Moving into seventh on a lap eight restart, the Roseville, CA driver then used a restart just past the halfway point to take over fourth.
Running strong in fourth as he chased after the likes of Dawson Hammes and John Clark who ran just ahead of him, Becker seemed to be on his way to a fourth-place finish as the white flag flew.
In the final set of corners, Clark had issues, and it allowed Becker to pounce and claim the final spot on the podium.
“Unfortunately, I didn’t get us timed in well, so we had to pass a lot of cars all night,” Becker added. “Luckily we had a good car, and we were able to sneak in a podium finish with the SCCT.”
