Dylan Bloomfield 5th at Cotton Classic with C&M Motorsports
PETERSEN MEDIA – Making the midweek decision to head to Kings Speedway in Hanford, CA as opposed to the SCCT show in Petaluma, CA, Dylan Bloomfield and C&M Motorsports put together another strong showing with NARC as they scored a fifth-place finish at the Cotton Classic.
“We didn’t time in too well, but Cody and the guys made some changes and I felt pretty good in our heat race as well as in the feature event,” Dylan Bloomfield said.
Timing in 12th fastest in qualifying time trials, Bloomfield found himself in the second row of his heat race aboard the Lund Construction/Anrak/Sam Rhodes backed No. 7c entry.
With the front row getting called for a jump on the start of his heat, Bloomfield found himself on the front row for the second attempt. When the race went green, the Oakley, CA driver settled into second as he chased after Landon Brooks.
Holding the second position, Bloomfield moved into the 30-lap feature event where he rolled off the starting grid from the eighth starting position on a track that was a little fast and also featured a few rough patches.
The first 11 laps of the race clicked off very fast as Bloomfield ran in the eighth position. The restart was kind to him as he moved into sixth on the 13th lap, and then was up into the Top-Five a lap later.
A stoppage came again on the 20th lap, and this restart wasn’t as kind to Bloomfield who slipped back to seventh as the action resumed. Getting back into sixth on a restart with two laps to go in the feature, Bloomfield was able to secure fifth on the final lap and close the night out with a Top-5.
“It was another fun night with the C&M Motorsports team, and I am really thankful that the guys worked so hard all night long,” Bloomfield added. “Cody and Cory really got me comfortable in the feature, and I was happy to move forward and have a good run at a track that has been tough on me in the past.”
