Andy Forsberg 5th and 7th at Nor Cal Posse Shootout

PETERSEN MEDIA: Andy Forsberg and the PHR Racing team continued to run well in 2025 as Forsberg and company picked up fifth and seventh place finishes over the weekend at Placerville Speedway during the annual Nor Cal Posse Shootout.

“The Nor Cal Posse Shootout/Legends Weekend event is a really cool event and its turning into something pretty cool,” Andy Forsberg said. “We were pretty good both nights, and Brian and everyone had our car pretty fast each time we hit the track.”

The weekend got underway on Friday night and Forsberg flexed his muscle early as he timed in fastest in his group, and second overall aboard the Meridian Cameras/Pacific Highway Rentals/Oroville Tax backed No. 92 mount.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Forsberg raced to a third place finish to lock into both the Dash as well as the opening night feature event.

Mirroring his heat race effort in the Dash, Forsberg’s third place finish lined him up in the second row of the feature event behind the front row which was made up of Justin Sanders and Shane Golobic.

When the Friday night feature came to life, Forsberg chased after the lead duo as he ran solidly in third with the field fighting for grip on the bottom of the speedway.

Late in the race, Forsberg got a little out of shape and it allowed Ryan Bernal to get by him for the final spot on the podium and a late restart saw Forsberg attempt to get back on the podium but instead he lost a spot to Austin Wood and finished the night in fifth.

Back in action on Saturday night for the finale, Forsberg got off to another quick start as he timed in second fastest in his qualifying flight before again locking himself into the feature and again the all-important Dash.

Going from eighth to fifth in the six-lap Dash, Forsberg and company had high hopes for the feature event, but they weren’t quite as strong in the 35-lapper as they were early in the night.

Maintaining position in the Top-10 all race long, Forsberg brought his weekend to a close with a seventh place finish.

“Friday night, I had an idea of what I thought Ryan Bernal was going to do on that final restart, but when he did the opposite I was in no mans land but was fortunate to not lose more than a spot,” Forsberg added. “Saturday night, we were all super confident with how we ran in the Dash, but after the re work, we were just a little off in the feature and maintained for the 35-laps.”

Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, MCK, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-12, Wins-2, Top 5’s-8, Top 10’s-10
