PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing to have a very good first full season together, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team built off of two top-10 finishes a week ago and were back on the podium at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night by way of a third place run.

“After a couple of solid Top-10’s last weekend with NARC and the SCCT, it was good to get the F&F Racing team back up on the podium,” Chance Grasty said. “We were really good from start to finish and it made for a really fun night.”

A total of 26 cars were on hand Saturday night for the track’s annual ‘Big Trophy Night’ event and the Suisun City, CA driver timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in second fastest in time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, a wild start saw the recent High School graduate fall back to fifth as he narrowly escaped disaster. Setting back into a groove, Grasty rebounded and worked his way up to a second-place finish to solidify a spot in the redraw.

Pulling a six, Grasty then rolled off the starting grid from the outside of the third row in the 25 lap feature event. As the race went green, he quickly took the fifth position as a lead pack battle heated up.

With four cars all jockeying for the third position, Grasty worked the bottom to perfection and came out on top as he took the position and turned his attention to the lead duo of Tony Gomes and Austin Wood.

Amidst a fast paced feature event, Grasty kept a firm grasp on the show position as he scored his seventh top five of the season with a third place finish.

“We had a fresh motor in, and it was really strong from start to finish with only a few adjustments needed,” Grasty added. “Really happy to get the team back on the podium, and hoping to get a few spots better this weekend.”
