PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off of his first career Sprint Car Challenge Tour win one week ago, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team were back in action on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway where Grasty continued his string of strong finishes and ended up in third.

“We had a great start to the night by going quick time again and then we were kind of up and down in our heat and the feature,” Chance Grasty said. “It is tough to be disappointed with another podium, but I would have liked to have been a couple of spots better.”

With a total of 23 sprint cars on hand Saturday night at Placerville Speedway for Fan Appreciation Night, Chance Grasty got the night off to a great start as he again earned fast time honors aboard the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Grasty felt contact from a fellow competitor and it resulted in him getting out of shape and spinning to a stop as he was forced to the back of the pack.

Able to get a good restart, Grasty worked his way into a transfer spot as his fifth place finish not only put him in the feature, but it gave him a place in the redraw based on his qualifying effort as he was then rewarded with the one pill.

Leading the field to green in the 25-lap feature event, Grasty got the early jump and until a caution on the second lap slowed the race and bunched the field back up.

The ensuing restart saw Grasty slip to second before falling all the way back to fourth as he raced around the slick surface looking for a way back to the front. Settling into the race, Grasty was able to get going in the right direction as he worked his way back to second before a late restart again halted his progress.

On this restart, Grasty did give up a spot as he slipped back to third where he eventually went on to finish.

“We had a ton of speed all night, but things just didn’t quite go our way at times,” Grasty said. “I am happy to continue to collect good finishes for the F&F Racing team and I’m thankful for everyone on our team’s effort.”
