Andy Forsberg 4th at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA: Bouncing back from a part failure at Placerville Speedway just one week ago, Andy Forsberg raced his way to a fourth-place finish and kept his Track Championship hopes alive with just one points paying event left on the 2025 schedule.

“It was a odd night for us,” Andy Forsberg said. “It wasn’t a bad night as we ran fourth, but nothing seemed to go our way or fall in our favor. Hopefully we can continue to have speed like we have all year and have some better luck this week when High Limit comes to town.”

With 24 cars on hand for the track’s penultimate regular season race, Forsberg timed the Meridian Cameras/Pacific Highway Rentals/Oroville Tax backed NO. 92 entry in fourth quickest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up in the fourth starting spot of his heat race, a botched start moved Forsberg into the third spot for the second attempted start and the bottom was not the groove to be in for heat race action.

Picking up a third place finish in heat race competition, Forsberg was locked into the feature event, and the redraw due to his qualifying effort, but the vaunted eighth pill placed him in the fourth row for the 25-lap affair.

The race got off to a tough start as it took four attempts to finally get to green flag action. In each botched start, Forsberg was able to get up into third and fourth, but after the third failed attempt to start the race, officials put the field in single file formation which saw Forsberg back in eighth.

As the action came to life, Forsberg was stuck in a battle for sixth and couldn’t seem to shake Shane Hopkins and Michael Sellers as they battled hard around the ¼ mile bullring.

Once he was able to get a little space, he made a couple of nice moves to work into the Top-Five but time was running out. Racing into fourth, Forsberg capped the night off there when the Ed Entz checkered flag flew over the track.

Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, MCK, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.

BY THE NUMBERS: Races-34, Wins-8, Top 5’s-21, Top 10’s-24

ON TAP: Andy Forsberg and the PHR team are set to return to Placerville Speedway on Saturday nigh to take on the Kubot High Limit Racing Series.
