PETERSEN MEDIA: Checking in at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for Kids Bike Night, Andy Forsberg and the Pacific Highway Rentals team picked up a third place finish in a very entertaining feature event.

“Saturday night was an interesting night,” Andy Forsberg said. “I felt like we had a great car, I just couldn’t put myself in a position to get by Jake Andreotti, and then I ended up letting Justyn Cox get by us and we ended up third.”

Timing the Meridian Cameras/Pacific Highway Rentals/Oroville Tax backed No. 92 in fourth fastest in qualifying time trials, Forsberg lined up on the front row of his heat race. Racing his way to the win, the Auburn, CA driver was locked into the redraw where the three pill placed him in the second row of the feature event.

As the 25-lap finale came to life, ‘AF’ jumped into second as he chased after early leader, Jake Andreotti.

Pacing Andreotti, Forsberg just couldn’t seem to put himself in position to pounce and take command of the race as he continued to run in second. As the laps clicked off and he continued to in the runner up position, the last 10-laps turned into a three-car battle as Justyn Cox began to pressure the lead duo.

As the it turned into a high-speed battle through traffic, Forsberg found himself on the short end of the stick as he ended up with a third place finish when the dust settled on the thrilling finale.

“Definitely don’t want to discredit Jake Andreotti by any means because he did a great job to earn his first Placerville win, but I left the night feeling like I left something on the table,” Forsberg added. “I am more mad at myself than anything, but its hard to be mad at a third place finish. We will try again this week at Chico on Friday and back at Placerville on Saturday night.”
