Andy Forsberg Wins 2025 Season Opener
PETERSEN MEDIA: Getting the 2025 season officially kicked off on Saturday night in Marysville, CA, Andy Forsberg and the PHR Racing team showed off a winter of preparation as the Auburn, CA driver picked up the season opening win at the Sherm and Loree Toller Memorial.
“This is a race that does me a lot to me as Sherm and Loree were involved in Grass Valley back when I started racing, and I really don’t know many people that are still involved in racing that were involved with the family back then,” Andy Forsberg said. “To grab another win in their honor is really cool.”
With 14 cars checked in for the opening race of the season in NorCal, Forsberg timed the Pacific Highway Rentals/Oroville Tax/Wilkie Masonry backed No. 92 in fifth fastest in time trials which put him on the front row of his heat race.
From the outside of the front row, Forsberg got the jump and never looked back. Out front, Forsberg was extremely strong as he picked up the win and earned a spot in the nightly redraw.
Pulling the two, Forsberg was on the front row of the 25-lap affair. When the green flag dropped, the Auburn, CA driver was hard on the throttle and jumped out to the early lead. With the stoppages over the duration of the first feature event of the season, Forsberg was in full command all race long.
Slicing and dicing his way through traffic when he encountered it, Forsberg appeared to be in mid-season form as he made it through unscathed, and was able to record his first win of the season.
“It is just a testament to how hard this team worked all offseason,” Forsberg said. “We moved shops and relocated the team to Chico, CA, we sold our old trailer, bought a new trailer, and outfitted the new trailer on top of normal off season building. Thaks to Brian, Kelly, Rick, Jack, PHR Paul, and everyone for working so hard and making this all possible.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, Western Featherlite, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races-1, Wins-1, Top 5’s-1, Top 10’s-1
