Ashton Torgerson Charges To Huset’s Speedway Top-10 In Final Prep for This Week’s Mega Event
PETERSEN MEDIA- After a tough go at Knoxville on Friday night, Ashton Torgerson and the Three Stooges Racing team took advantage of final prep night at Huset’s Speedway on Sunday night before this week’s High Bank Hustle and High Bank Nationals.
“Friday night was a bit of a struggle for us, but we came back strong on Saturday night only to have rain cancel after time trials,” Ashton Torgerson said. “We headed to Huset’s on Sunday and we really got rolling in the feature event.”
Finishing 19th in the Friday night ‘B’ Main, Saturday’s rainout then led the Torgerson and the team to Brandon, SD on Sunday night to take part in weekly action at Huset’s Speedway.
Timing the IPC/Moxzy backed No. 51 in fifth fastest in his qualifying flight, the Glendale, AZ driver lined up in the third row of his heat race. Finishing fourth in heat race competition, Torgerson moved into the feature event where he took the green flag from the 19th starting position.
Slowly working his way forward as the race went green, Torgerson moved into 16th on the third lap and bounce between there and 18th for the next five laps. Advancing to the 15th position on the 14th lap, Torgerson moved into 14th on lap 18 before cracking the Top-10 on the 21st marker.
With time running out, the World of Outlaws Rookie of the Year contender move into ninth on the 24th lap which is where he went on to finish off his weekend, as he and his team no prepare for four nights at Huset’s starting on Wednesday night.
“Hopefully we can take what we learned in Sunday night’s feature and use that to help us get this week off to a good start,” Torgerson added.
