Austin Torgerson Racks Two Top-10’s in Sprint Car Action
PETERSEN MEDIA- Spending his weekend piloting the family owned winged sprint car in California, Austin Torgerson had a solid weekend as he finished seventh on Friday night in Watsonville, CA and ninth on Saturday in Placerville, CA.
Kicking a busy weekend off on Friday night in Watsonville, CA, Torgerson timed the Torgerson Racing No. 88 entry in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials which placed him in the third row of his heat race.
Taking the heat race green from the fifth starting position, Torgerson slipped back to finish sixth which lined him up 11thin the feature event.
Continuing to make laps and adapt to the winged sprint car as he gets more and more sprint car races under his belt, the Glendale, AZ driver was able to work his way into the Top-10 and all the way up to seventh as he earned the Top-10 and turned his attention to Placerville Speedway.
Checking in at Placerville Speedway on Saturday night, Torgerson looked forward to trying to figure out a track that has been tough on him at times, especially up to date in 2025.
Timing in 14th fastest in qualifying time trials, a fifth place finish in his heat race was good enough to lock him into the feature event as he took the green flag from the 14th starting position.
Following a bit of track prep prior to the ‘A’, Torgerson hit the speedway and was focused on getting more laps and working his way forward. When the green flag was displayed to the field, Torgerson held down 14th as he settled in.
Using an early restart to his advantage, Torgerson was able to make some headway as he powered his way into the Top-10 as he settled into 10th before moving into ninth for a four laps.
Slipping back to 10th on the 13th lap, Torgerson again used a restart to power his way back into eighth in the closing laps before a losing a spot on the final circuit and capping his night off with a ninth place finish.
ON TAP: Torgerson will be idle this weekend.
