Austin Torgerson Wins Dan Steffey Memorial
PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in the Dan Steffey Memorial over the weekend at Adobe Mountain Speedway, Austin Torgerson was able to score the win in Non Winged action on Saturday night as he fended off his brother in doing so.
Spending Friday and Saturday competing in non winged and winged action at Adobe Mountain, Torgerson kicked the weekend off by going from ninth to fourth in his Friday night non winged heat race, before going from fifth to fourth in his winged heat race.
Moving into feature event action, Austin Torgerson lined up seventh on the starting grid for the 20-lap winged feature event. From his fourth row starting position, Torgerson was able to make some moves in the fast-paced feature event.
Working the B&B Race Chassis backed No. 88 to a fourth-place finish, Torgerson then turned his attention to the non-winged feature event where he took the green flag from the 17th starting position.
Mired in the back of the pack, Torgerson dint quite have the showing he had hope of as issues forced him to retire on the 10th lap after getting into 15th.
Back in action on Saturday night, Torgerson again raced through the ‘B’ Main in winged action as he charged from sixth to second to transfer into the feature event before lining up 18th in the finale.
From the ninth row, Torgerson was able to work his way towards the Top-10, but progress was impeded and slowed as he settled into 13th, where he went on to finish.
Lining up in the fourth row of his non winged feature, Torgerson continued to show case a ton of speed as he powered his way to a third place finish which put him on the front row of the feature event.
When the feature went green, Torgerson jumped out to the early lead and looked very strong out front. Pacing the field from the onset, he felt pressure from a familiar foe around the halfway point, as brother Ashton moved into second.
Unphased by the new challenger, Torgerson was able to keep his brother at bay as he went on to capture his first win of the 2025 season.
