Bloomfield Surges To Second at Fall Nationals

PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off of a tough weekend with the World of Outlaws, Dylan Bloomfield returned to the seat of the C&M Motorsports No. 7c over the weekend for the Fall Nationals in Chico, CA where he powered his way to a second-place finish on Saturday night.

“It was a pretty good weekend for us as a team,” Dylan Bloomfield said. “Friday night we were fast, but we had a parts failure with our nose wing and still managed to pass a few cars with a bungeed down nose wing.”

With 45 cars checked in for battle on Friday night, Bloomfield timed the Lund Construction/Anrak/Sam Rhodes backed No. 7c in third fastest in qualifying time trials.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Discovery Bay, CA pilot continued to flex his muscle as he jumped out into the lead, and never looked back. Scoring the win, Bloomfield was locked into both the opening night feature event, as well as the nightly redraw.

Having poor luck during his draw, the ‘eight’ placed him on the outside of the fourth row on a very fast and heavy racing surface. When the race came to life, Bloomfield settled into eighth as the field quickly reached the back of the pack.

Moving into seventh on a lap five restart, Bloomfield looked to make a move into sixth on the sixth lap when he was forced to slow with his nose wing sitting vertical on his car.

Making a quick trip to the work area, the only quick solution was bungee cording the wing down, so with a pair of bungees attached, Bloomfield was back on his way. Restarting in 21st, Bloomfield quickly was up into 16th in just four laps and digging for more.

Racing through the Top-15, Bloomfield took over the 13th position on the 26th lap,  which is where he went on to finish.

Back in action for the Fall Nationals finale on Saturday night, Bloomfield timed in seventh quickest in his flight with 41 cars piled into the pit area. Lining up third in his heat race, Bloomfield was able to make a couple of swift moves to take over the race lead.

Picking up the win, Bloomfield locked himself into the Dash where his fifth-place finish placed him in the third row for the 35-lap finale.

Working into fourth when the race came to life, he ran steadily inside the Top-5 during a 19 lap green flag run. With the field bunched back up and out of traffic for the restart, Bloomfield put his right rear up on the cushion and began to close in on the top-three. Moving into second on the 23rd lap, he did what he could to reel in race leader, Chance Grasty, but was unable to get to him as he capped the night off with a runner up finish.

“It felt great battling some really fast racecars all weekend long,” Bloomfield added. “Cody and Bobby did a great job with the car all weekend long, and it was a ton of fun working with everyone associated with the C&M Motorsports team. They are a fun group to race with.”

The C&M Motorsports team would like to thank NOS Energy Drink, Lund Construction, Anrak, Sam Rhodes, MatriScope, Econo Lube-n-Tune, Alturas Tires, Swartz Diesel, Kings Meats, American Paving Systems, PT Shocks, and RJM Builders and all of their product sponsors for their continued support.
