Grasty 12th with NARC in Tulare, CA
PETERSEN MEDIA- Venturing to Tulare, CA on Saturday night with the Northern Auto Racing Club (NARC), Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team had a bit of an off night as they ran 12th in the feature event.
“We unfortunately didn’t get timed in well at all,” Chance Grasty said. “Then in our heat we had a shock go bad, which led to our car not handling well at all and actually feeling pretty evil.”
Timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 in 13th fastest in qualifying time trials, the Suisun City, CA driver found himself in the third row of his heat race.
When the heat came to life, Grasty started to feel the ill effects of a failing left rear shock as he hung on as best he could and wrestled his mount around Thunderbowl Raceway. Finishing sixth, Grasty was locked into the 16th starting position in the feature event as the team went to work to make repairs and make sure nothing else had failed.
Taking the green flag from the outside of the eighth row, Grasty admittedly felt much better in the 30-lap finale as he used it as an opportunity to feel things out for the upcoming Trophy Cup.
With the way the track was, it was tough to make a big run through the field, but Grasty did what he could while in traffic as he moved into 14th on the fourth lap, and then was in 13th on the 10th marker.
Continuing to log laps and challenge where he could, Grasty worked his way into 11th just past the halfway point of the feature event and looked for a way inside the Top-10.
Bouncing between 11th and 12th during the final 10 laps of the race, Grasty ultimately capped his night off with a 12thplace finish.
“It wasn’t the night we had in mind, but I think we may have been dealing with a bad shock in qualifying too,” Grasty said. “Super thankful to have a great team behind me who never quits, and in the end it was really good for us to get more laps in Tulare, CA with Trophy Cup on the horizon.”
