Chance Grasty 2nd at Hall Memorial

PETERSEN MEDIA- A weekend of 360ci action saw Chance Grasty and F&F Racing team head to Marysville Raceway and Silver Dollar Speedway where Grasty ran sixth at the Silver Dollar Fair Race on Saturday night, and closed the weekend out with a runner up effort on Sunday night at the Hall Memorial.

“We had a really good car all weekend long, and it was a fun weekend of racing,” Chance Grasty said. “I am thankful that my guys continue to work hard for me, and we really have gotten into a nice rhythm.”

Heading to Silver Dollar Speedway on Saturday night to open the weekend, Grasty got the weekend kicked off by timing in fourth fastest in his qualifying flight.

Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Suisun City, CA driver mashed the throttle when the action went green and left the field in his wake. Picking up the win, Grasty locked into the feature event and also into the redraw in which he drew the eight.

Taking the green flag from the outside of the fourth row, Grasty was able to settle into fifth when the race finally went green after issues slowed things on the first two attempts and bringing the race to life.

As the race got going, Grasty soon started to have difficulty with his steering. Later diagnosing it as a power steering leak, Grasty settled in and hung on as best he could and settled for a sixth-place finish.

Sunday night, the scene shifted to Marysville Raceway with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour and Grasty continued to show a ton of speed in this 360ci powerplant as he earned quick time honors.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Grasty finished second which put him in the Dash. Being offered the BC Challenge- which was a $500 bonus to start sixth in the Dash and then an additional $500 should he win the dash- Grasty accepted, but wasn’t able to improve his feature event starting spot as he finished in the sixth spot.

In the caution plagued feature event, Grasty was able to quickly work his way into third as he did his best to get into the top-two. With a very fast car under him, Grasty made a move for second but as the car bobbled it cost him as he slipped back to fourth.

Able to get into third, Grasty used a late restart to move into second, and made it extremely close coming to the checkered but he did settle for a runner up finish on this night.

“Sunday night was a fun race, there was quite a few cautions but overall, I thought it was pretty entertaining and I am happy we came away with a runner up result,” Grasty noted.
