PETERSEN MEDIA- Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team continued to be models of consistency at Placerville Speedway as Grasty and company garnered another strong finish by way of a sixth-place effort on Saturday night during the track’s Kids Bike Night event.

“It was good to get us back qualifying like we had been, and we continued to race well,” Grasty said. “I probably needed to be a little more aggressive at the end of the race to get us a better result, but we righted a couple of wrongs from last week and now we look forward to another two-race week ahead.”

Getting the night kicked off in time trials, Grasty returned to his quick ways as he timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 mount in second fastest in time trials.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Suisun City, CA runner continued to show case a very strong entry as he raced his way to a second-place finish and solidified himself a spot in the all-important redraw.

Pulling the five, Grasty took the green flag from the inside of the third row for the 25-lapper and quickly jumped into fourth as the race roared to life. Working around the speedway, Grasty slipped back to fifth where he ran much of the race.

As the laps clicked off, Grasty was all over Shane Hopkins who ran just ahead of him in the fourth position. Trying to be patient amidst his battle for the fourth position, Grasty lost a spot to Tony Gomes in the closing laps as he slipped back to sixth where he went on to close the race out in.

“I think we had a better car than where we ended up, I was just too passive and didn’t force any issues and that definitely cost us a spot or two,” Grasty noted. “It wasn’t quite the result we wanted, but after the struggle in time trials last weekend we were all happy to have that speed back because it is so crucial to time in well in these races. As always thanks to Alan, Tooch, Dan, and the rest of the guys for all of their hard work.”
