Chance Grasty and F&F Racing Fight For Sixth Place Finish at SCCT Opener
PETERSEN MEDIA- Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team built off of their strong run last week at Placerville Speedway and carried it into this past Saturday’s Sprint Car Challenge Tour season opener where the Suisun, CA driver picked up a sixth place finish after a mid-race hiccup.
“We had a fast car right out of the trailer on Saturday night, and if it wasn’t for a couple of mid-race mistakes I think we would have landed on the podium,” Chance Grasty said. “Super thankful for this team’s effort and continued support.”
A total of 41 cars head to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night to open up the 2025 SCCT campaign and Grasty got the night started by timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 in fourth quickest in his flight.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Grasty was able to have things go in his favor as he jumped into the race lead and never looked back. Grabbing the win was important as not only did it lock him into the feature event, it also locked him into the all-important High Sierra Industries Dash.
Pulling the four in the draw, Grasty was able to finish in the third post and that locked him into the second row for the 35-lap SCCT opening night feature event.
Settling into third when the race came to life, an early restart saw Grasty take advantage of the leaders getting together as he briefly had the lead only to see a yellow negate his efforts and put him back in third.
The next restart went the complete opposite way for the youngster as he got out of sorts and slipped back to sixth as he worked hard to not lose any more track position.
Once back into the swing of the event, Grasty began to work his way back forward when another misstep saw him slip back to 11th as he pushed the limits a bit too far.
Settling down and getting back into the racing groove, Grasty changed his mindset for the duration of the race and calmy worked his way back forward and finished in the sixth spot.
“It was a really solid night for us again, and it is great to have a couple really good runs in back to back races,” Grasty added. “I have some things to clean up on my end but the car and the speed is there. Again, I owe all of this to our sponsors as well as Alan, Tooch, Dan, and the entire crew for their effort and hard work.”
F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Quick Change Liquid Energy, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.
ON TAP: F&F Racing and Chance Grasty are scheduled to return to action on Friday night at Ocean Speedway in Watsonville, CA and then on Saturday night at Placerville Speedway.
