Chance Grasty Fights Back To Finish 8th at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Saturday night at Placerville Speedway, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team showed their grit as they battled through fuel pump issues all night long and still managed to secure an eighth-place finish.

“Saturday night was one we’d like to forget as it all but took us out of the battle for the Track Championship,” Chance Grasty said. “I have to give it up to my guys, because they never gave up but enduring issues in the feature and being relegated to the back late in the race was really costly.”

With 24 cars on hand, Grasty drew early for time trials, and with the track still a bit greasy he ended up timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in ninth fastest in qualifying time trials.

Set to line up on the front row of his heat race, Grasty had his first issue of the night arise as he was forced into the work area prior to the race going green and was ultimately un able to make the call and was forced into the ‘B’.

With the F&F Racing team working diligently to get the issues resolved with all heat races going fast, Grasty was able to make the call for the ‘B’. Lining up on the front row, the Suisun City, CA driver picked up the win and punched his ticket into the feature event where he rolled off the starting grid from the 17th starting position.

After the first few starts we negated due to issues throughout the field, Grasty was able to work his way forward and into the Top-10 in seemingly no time at all.

Racing towards the Top-5 as the race neared the halfway point, Grasty slowed out of turn four and coasted to a stop to bring out the yellow.

Making his way to the work area, Grasty’s team feverishly went to work under the hood of the No. x1 entry. Unfortunately, the racing action resumed with Grasty still in the work area and it appeared his night was over until a timely caution flew before one lap was complete.

Able to shove back off, Grasty was able to restart the race from the tail end of the field. From the back of the pack, Grasty made a valiant run back forward in limited laps as he was able to cap his night off with an eighth-place finish.

“It was frustrating for all of us, but it just was one of those things that was out of our control,” Grasty added. “We will put it behind us, and get ready for this big 410ci swing with High Limit coming up and see what we can do against some of the best in the business..”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Quick Change Liquid Energy, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Chance Grasty will now shift gears as they will battle with High Limit Racing on Friday night in Tulare, CA and then again on Saturday back at Placerville Speedway.
