Chance Grasty Lands In Top-10 During Both Nights Of “Bradway” Weekend
PETERSEN MEDIA- Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team were on point all weekend long during the annual Dave Bradway Jr Memorial weekend which was held at Placerville Speedway.
“We had a really solid weekend, we just faded a little in both feature events,” Chance Grasty said. “Still, it was two nights full of great cars and I am proud of how we performed and pleased with a couple of Top-10’s.’
Friday night ran under Sprint Car Challenge Tour sanction as the weekend kicked off with the inaugural Davy Thomas Memorial. Grasty got off to a quick start as he timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in third fastest in his qualifying flight.
Lining up on the pole of his heat race, Grasty had a bit of a stumble when the green flag dropped and he slipped back to second. Hanging on to finish second, Grasty locked into the 35-lap feature event but missed out on the Dash narrowly as he started ninth in the feature event.
Moving into seventh when the race came to life, Grasty didn’t quite have the grip and drive he needed on the extremely slick Placerville Speedway surface, but that didn’t keep him from searching around the speedway and trying different lines.
Getting up as high as sixth during the fast paced feature, Grasty ultimately slipped back to seventh amidst a couple of late restarts which is where he went on to close his Friday night out.
Back in action on Saturday night for the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial, a race that means so much to the F&F Racing team with their family ties, Grasty hit the track swinging as he earned fast time honors in his qualifying flight before finishing third in his heat.
Locking into the Dash based on his qualifying efforts, the Suisun, CA driver drew the one during the redraw, and one the six-lap shootout to earn the pole for the 40-lap Bradway Memorial feature event.
Slipping into second as the race went green, Grasty chased after Dominic Gorden who set a torrid pace out front. Running in second for the first six laps, he slipped back to third before falling to fourth just before the race’s first caution.
As the laps clicked off, Grasty again struggled to find grip on the ¼ mile bullring as he slowly dropped back and ultimately capped the weekend off with an eighth place finish.
“It was a little disappointing to finish eighth on Saturday with how we started the night, but I am super grateful that I had the opportunity to represent the family in this race, and I am really happy we were solid all night,’ Grasty added. “Thanks to my guys for busting their tails during two really hot nights.”
F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Quick Change Liquid Energy, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.
