PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to NARC action on Saturday night in Tulare, CA, Chance Grasty had his best outing of the young season as he pocketed a third-place finish with the F&F Racing team.

“Our night started off great with getting a really strong qualifying lap, and that is so big with NARC,” Chance Grasty said. “From there, we raced really well and were in a great position all night long.”

A total of 25 cars packed into the Thunderbowl Raceway pit area, and Grasty flexed his muscle early as he timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in second fastest in qualifying time trials.

Putting him fourth in his heat race, the Suisun City, CA driver moved into third when the green flag was displayed, and though he had a chance to battle for second, he opted to play it safe, and keep his lock-in position for both the Dash and the feature event.

On the strength of his third-place finish, Grasty went on to finish fourth in the Dash, and that put him on the outside of the second row for the 30-lap feature event.

When the race went green, Grasty jumped into third, and on the hooked-up surface, the race settled into an 18-lap non-stop run. With the leaders getting into traffic, Grasty got bottled up behind a slower car and slipped back to fourth just before the race’s first stoppage.

Once the action came back to life, Grasty moved back into third and began to pressure Dominic Scelzi for the runner-up position. A restart with eight to go saw Grasty make a bid for second, but Scelzi was able to counter his attack.

On the final lap, Grasty again made a move for the spot, but he hit the curb wrong and it allowed Scelzi to keep the position as he gathered his car back up and capped the night off with a third-place finish.

“Ultimately, I am really happy with a third-place finish,” Grasty said. “I really want to thank my entire team, and all of our partners for their support and continued hard work.”
