Chance Grasty Records Pair of Top-10’s at Morrie Williams Tribute
PETERSEN MEDIA- Getting back to 410ci action on Saturday night, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team traveled to Tulare, CA for the Morrie Williams Tribute where they had a solid outing that saw the team score 9th and 10th place finishes in each feature.
“We went out late on qualifying and didn’t get timed in very well,” Chance Grasty said. “I didn’t get off to a good start in the heat, but in the feature events we ran pretty well and came away with two good finishes.”
Timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in 15th quickest in time trials, Chance Grasty lined up in the third row of his heat race.
Unable to get a good jump in his heat, Grasty ended up finishing in the sixth spot which placed him 16th on the starting grid for the opening 20-lap feature event.
As the race came to life, Grasty played in smart from his eighth row starting spot as he was patient and let the race come to him. Able to avoid some incidents and make some well calculated moves, Grasty finished 10th which put him in the fourth row for the second feature event.
When the second feature went green, Grasty settled into eighth where he ran much of the race on the very fast surface following a track prep session between races. Holding down eighth for much of the race, a late battle saw the Suisun, CA driver give up the spot as he slipped back to ninth where he went on to finish.
“After a slow start for us, it ended up being a pretty good night,’ Grasty added. “It is always nice to get laps at Tulare and more time with a 410ci engine. Happy with our end results and it is a testament to Alan, Tooch, Dan, and all of the guys that help in the pit area.”
