Chance Grasty Runs Fourth with NARC in Tulare, CA
PETERSEN MEDIA- Fresh off the Fall Nationals triumph a week ago, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team reunited with NARC on Saturday night for the first of three consecutive weekends to close out the series’ season and pocketed a fourth-place finish.
“It was fun to get back to Tulare, CA on Saturday night, and we had really good speed,” Chance Grasty said. “There wasn’t a whole lot of passing overall all night long, so we did what we needed to do and put ourselves in a good spot all night.”
Getting the night off to a great start at the lightning fast Thunderbowl Raceway, Grasty timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in sixth fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up on the front row of his heat race, the Suisun City, CA driver was hard on the throttle as the race went green. Jumping into the lead, Grasty would not be denied as his win moved him into the all-important Dash.
Finishing third in the Dash, Grasty and F&F Racing were set for the 30-lap feature event from the inside of the second row.
With the 360 feature running 30 non-stop laps before the NARC feature, the track was still very fast and passing was at a premium.
As the NARC feature went green, a quick couple of yellow flags flew before the race finally got into a rhythm. One of the cautions was a jump start which put Grasty on the pole.
Slipping back to fifth as the race came to life, Grasty was back in the sixth position on the ninth lap and things were moving fast on his night.
Able to settle down, and settle in, Grasty worked his way back up into 5th just as the field was shown the cross flags on the 15th lap.
Back inside the Top-5, the youngster used a late restart to move into fourth as the action resumed. Maintaining for the final 11 laps, Grasty closed the night out with a fourth-place finish.
“Trying to find some racing room I lost a couple of spots early, but fortunately we were able to get them back to get into fourth before the checkered flew,” Grasty added. “My guys continue to work extremely hard, and they continue to give us a very good racecar.”
F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Triple X Race Co., Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Econo Lube ‘N’ Tune, XC Gear, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.
ON TAP: F&F Racing and Chance Grasty head to Placerville Speedway on Saturday night for the penultimate night on the NARC schedule.
