Chance Grasty Scores Career Best 410ci Finish in Chico, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA- Continuing to adapt and get comfortable in a 410ci powerplant, Chance Grasty put together his best run to date on Friday night in Chico, CA as he picked up a second place finish at the Prelude to the Mini Gold Cup.

“Friday night was awesome,” Chance Grasty said. “We timed in well, put ourselves in a good spot all night long, and we even led some laps.”

Kicking the two night stay in Chico, CA off on Friday night for the Prelude to the Mini Gold Cup, Grasty timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in third quickest in time trials.

With the strong qualifying effort, the Suisun, CA driver simply needed to transfer through his heat race to make the redraw, and he was able to accomplish that by way of a fourth place finish.

Moving into the redraw to set the front of the field for the feature event, Grasty pulled the one pill, which meant he would lead the field to green for the opening night 30-lap feature event.

When the race went green on the rough and tumble Silver Dollar Speedway, Grasty settled into second as he chased after early leader, Justin Sanders. Navigating the tricky track surface, Grasty was able to race his way into the lead for a few laps as the leaders raced through traffic.

Navigating some ruts as well as slower traffic, Grasty saw Sanders get back by him as he was back solidly in second. Pacing Sanders in the final laps, Grasty was able to hang on to the podium spot as he picked up his best 410ci feature finish to date.

Returning to action on Saturday night for the Mini Gold Cup finale, Grasty got off to another solid start as he timed in ninth fastest in his qualifying flight and lined up in the third row of his heat race.

A very slick surface on Saturday night saw Grasty move into fourth when the heat went green, and his fourth place finish put him 14th on the starting grid for the 40-lap feaute event.

From his mid-pack starting position, Grasty did not have the run he was hoping for on the racy Silver Dollar Speedway surface. Challenging for a spot in the Top-10, Grasty capped his weekend off with a 13th place finish with NARC.

“Saturday night we were just kind of average,” Grasty said. “It wasn’t a bad night by any means we were just a little off. Still, our team was really happy with how Friday went and it is for sure something to build off of.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Quick Change Liquid Energy, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.
