Chance Grasty Sixth at Silver Cup
PETERSEN MEDIA- Heading to Chico, CA on Saturday night for the Silver Cup, Chance Grasty and the F&F Racing team battled from their 11th starting position to score a 6th place finish in the feature event.
“The track was really fast and hard to pass on, so it wasn’t quite the result we were after but it was good to move forward like we did,” Chance Grasty said.
With 26 cars in the pit area, Grasty timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in 12th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Suisun City, CA driver started and finished third in his heat race, which put him 11th on the starting grid for the 30-lap feature event.
Hoping the track would go away and widen out as the night progressed, Grasty would not get his wish as the moisture hung around all night long and created a very fast a narrow racing surface.
Getting a great start when the race came to life, Grasty was able to work his way into the eighth position where he ran much of the night. With passing extremely difficult in this race, the youngster continued to hit his marks and wait for an opening to get a few more positions.
Getting in seventh on a late restart, Grasty worked into sixth on the 27th lap and looked for a way into the Top-5 as he chased after Max Mittry and Andy Forsberg who ran just ahead of him.
Unable to get into the top-five, Grasty capped the night off with a sixth place finish.
“I was really hoping we could get into the Top-Five in that last run, but it was just so tough to make up ground,” Grasty added. “Big thanks to the F&F Racing guys for always working so hard. We had a lot of speed, so we will certainly take the positives from the night and build.”

ON TAP: F&F Racing and Chance Grasty are scheduled to return to action on 3/28 in Tulare, CA. They are still contemplating a visit to Placerville Speedway on 3/21.
