Chance Grasty Works Way To 10th at 2026 NARC Opener

PETERSEN MEDIA- Kicking his 2026 season off on Saturday night with F&F Racing, Chance Grasty and team battled back from a little adversity in the feature event to tally a 10th place finish when the checkered flag flew.

“We had a ton of speed early in the night, but qualifying and our heat race didn’t go too well and it buried us for the feature event,” Chance Grasty said. “We had an eventful run in the feature, and I am thankful we were able to come away with a 10th place finish.”

Feeling really good after hot laps, Grasty was just a little off in time trials as he timed the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing No. x1 entry in 14th fastest in time trials.

Lining up fifth in his heat race, Grasty admittedly made a mistake when the green flag was displayed and he slipped back to seventh. Unable to make up any of the lost ground in his heat, Grasty’s seventh place finish put him 19th on the starting grid for the feature event.

When the race came to life, Grasty was able to slowly work his way forward as he navigated traffic on the tight confines of the Merced Speedway. Getting into 15th, Grasty was collected in a big tangle in turns one and two on the 10th lap.

Making a trip to the work area, Grasty’s F&F Racing team was able to make repairs and get him back on the track where he lined up in 18th.

Back underway, Grasty was able to again work his way forward as he did in the first 10-laps as he was up to 13th by the halfway point, and into 12th on the 16th lap.

Continuing to mix it up with some of the best in the region, the Suisun City, CA driver powered his way into the Top-10 on the 27th lap.

Holding the spot on the final few laps, Grasty secured the Top-10 when the wild feature came to a close.

“It was great to have speed, and I am thankful for all the work my guys did over the winter, and again at the track on Saturday,” Grasty added. “Looking forward to Silver Cup this weekend in Chico, CA.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Bushey Financial Services, C&H Motor Parts, Sierra Single Ply Roofing, Wrayvon, CRV Carbon Solutions, Quick Change Liquid Energy, All Pro Heads, Engler, and Don Ott Racing Engines for their support.
