Dakota Albright 7th During First Ventura Raceway Appearance Of Season
PETERSEN MEDIA- Making the six-hour trip south on Saturday night to Ventura Raceway, Dakota Albright was happy with how he unloaded during his first visit to the speedway of the season before he picked up a seventh-place finish in the feature event.
“We haven’t competed at Ventura Raceway in quite a few years, so I was really happy with how we unloaded,” Dakota Albright said. “We timed in really well, but then we didn’t make the changes we needed in our heat and the feature and ended up finishing seventh.”
With 16 cars making the call on Saturday night, Albright got his night kicked off by timing the Thompson’s Family of Dealerships/Matos Accountancy/Greenwood Machine and Fab backed No. 35jr in second fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up fifth in his heat race, Albright didn’t get the jump he had hoped for and slipped back to seventh. Despite his car not feeling how he hoped, Albright was able to make some adjustments to his line and work his way back into the Top-5.
Finishing fifth, Albright earned a spot in the redraw where the five-pill again put him lining up in the third row.
When the feature event went green, the Waterford, CA driver was still a little off even after making adjustments following his heat race. Doing all he could on the small confines of Ventura Raceway, Albright capped the night off with a seventh-place finish.
“It definitely was tough getting back there and making adjustments on the fly,” Albright added. “It is a fun track, and fortunately we were able to learn a ton and put ourselves in a better spot when we get back there later this summer.”
Dakota Albright would like to thank Thompson’s Family of Dealerships, Matos Accountancy, Greenwood Machine and Fabrication, 530 Wraps, Oval Chassis Research, Parker Performance and Fabrication, Romey’s Window Cleaning, Nutcher Milk, Angels Heavy Haul, West Steel and Plastics, Calhot Powder Coating, Sala Racing, Petersen Media, and Simpson Race Products for their support in 2025.
