Dylan Bloomfield 14th During Trophy Cup Tune with PHR Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA: Teaming up with PHR Racing for the upcoming Trophy Cup, Dylan Bloomfield and team took advantage of Saturday’s NARC event in Tulare, CA to get laps together where they scored a 14th place finish.
“I was really happy with how our first night went together,” Dylan Bloomfield said. “It took me a little while to get acclimated to a new car but we were able to move forward in our heat and in the feature.”
With 23 cars checked into the pit area in Tulare, CA, Bloomfield timed the Pacific Highway Rentals/Wilkie Masonry/Western Traffic Supply No. 92 in 13th fastest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up fifth in his heat race, Bloomfield picked up a position as his fourth-place finish put him in the sixth row to start the feature event.
On a very fast Thunderbowl Raceway surface, Bloomfield slipped back to 12th as the field filtered out around the speedway. Running in 12th for much of the first half of the race, Bloomfield broke into the Top-10 on the 17th lap as the track started to widen out.
Battling hard inside the Top-10 and looking to make a move in traffic, contact ensued which resulted in Bloomfield spinning the PHR No. 92 to a stop in turn four.
Able to restart with no damage, Bloomfield was able to pick up a couple of positions and close his night out with a 14thplace finish.
“In the feature, I had to battle a little stumble on our engine and that made it tough with how the track was,” Bloomfield added. “Once I was able to figure it out, I was able to pick up a few spots until I got into a spinning car that left me with nowhere to go. It is unfortunate we don’t have a good result to show for how we were, but the PHR team is a lot of fun to race with.”
