Eventful Week Sees Ashton Torgerson Run 8th with Moody Motorsport as he Now Moves to Three Stooges Racing
PETERSEN MEDIA- Amidst a busy race week in the state of PA, Ashton Torgerson’s week was quite possibly the most eventful. After his Shark Racing ride was parked on Wednesday, Torgerson spent the weekend racing with Moody Motorsport, and today announced he will take over the driving duties of the Three Stooges Racing No. 51.
“It was certainly an eventful few days, and I am really happy that the off track stuff is handled,” Torgerson said. “I want to thank Jacob Allen, the Allen Family, and Shark Racing for everything they did for me the last year. It was an incredible experience and I am forever grateful to get to race with Jacob and his legendary father, Bobby. I also want to thank Kyle Moody and Moody Motorsport for allowing me to continue to run with the World of Outlaws over the weekend, and I am happy we were able to have a really good run on Saturday.”
After a tough end to Friday night’s feature event, Torgerson was back in action on Saturday in the Moody Motorsport No. 99M.
Timing in third quickest in qualifying time trials, Torgerson finished second in his heat race and locked himself into the Dash. By way of a seventh-place finish, Torgerson lined up for the Morgan Cup feature event on the inside of the fourth row.
Settling into seventh as the race got underway, Torgerson held his own as he battled around the famed ½ mile nestled in the heart of Central PA. Continuing to hold down seventh, the 25th lap saw the Glendale, AZ driver slip back to eighth.
Keeping his mount well within the Top-10, Torgerson closed the night out with an eighth-place finish.
Following the week in PA, Torgerson was able to strike a deal to remain on tour as he moves over to the Jeff and Laurie West owned Three-Stooges Racing No. 51 moving forward.
“I am really thankful to have the opportunity to remain out on the road, and I am looking forward to starting out with the Three Stooges Racing team,” Torgerson said. “I am extremely excited for this opportunity, and can’t wait to get started.”
