PETERSEN MEDIA- Taking part in the Keith Kunz Showdown event at the Lemoore Jet Bowl and Plaza Park over the weekend, Austin Torgerson’s Friday night Top-10 highlighted his weekend.

Wednesday night action was held at the Jet Bowl in Lemoore, CA, where Torgerson timed in second fastest in qualifying time trials before finishing fifth in his heat race.

Lining up fifth in his feature event, things would not go Torgerson’s way to open up the busy weekend of racing. Having issues in the ‘A’, Torgerson recorded a DNF on this night.

Thursday night saw the three-race weekend at Plaza Park come to life as Torgerson timed in 13^th fastest in qualifying time trials, after showing a bunch of speed in warm ups earlier in the night.

Lining up second in his heat race, Torgerson held the position which locked him into the opening night feature event where he lined up 11^th. From the sixth row on a very racy surface, Torgerson searched around as he quickly jumped into the Top-10.

Getting up to sixth, issues on the 14^th lap dropped Torgerson back to 18^th, and he was able to work his way back up to 14^th when the checkered flag was displayed.

Friday night action saw Torgerson continue to have a strong car as he timed in sixth fastest in time trials before finishing second in his heat race.

Gridding the field from the second row in the feature event, Torgerson didn’t get the jump he had hoped and a wild race saw him back in eighth in the first couple of laps.

Though he wasn’t able to get rolling back forward, a very exciting feature event saw him keep his mount inside the Top-10 as he capped his night off with a 10^th place finish.

Saturday night saw Torgerson locked into the feature event where he took the green flag for the 40-lapper from the 10^thstarting position.

Slipping back to 12^th when the race went green, Torgerson was back into 10^th on the seventh lap, and worked into ninth on the 10^th lap.

Dropping back to 10^th on the 12^th lap, Torgerson held his spot until he fell to 11^th at the race’s halfway point. Falling back to 14^th late in the race, Torgerson was able to pick up the lost spots as he capped the weekend off with an 11^th place finish.
