PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending the weekend in Illinois and Wisconsin, Joel Myers Jr and the Hayward Motorsports team and a very nice showing as Myers Jr picked up a pair of podiums.

“Jacksonville on Friday night was a little tricky to pass on, and Saturday night in Plymouth we definitely had a car capable of winning, however a couple of breaks just didn’t go our way.”

Competing on Friday night at Jacksonville Speedway, Myers Jr drew the pole for his heat so he needed to score the win to earn max points for feature event starting position. Getting the jump when the field was shown the green, Myers Jr never looked back as he paced the field and raced his way to the win.

Moving into the feature event, the Sebastopol, CA driver lined up in the third row of the 25-lapper on the extremely slick Jacksonville Speedway surface.

Settling into fifth when the race went green, Myers Jr held down his spot inside the Top-5 for the first half of the race until he powered into third on the 13^th lap.

Once into third, Myers Jr turned his attention to Paul Nienhiser and Jake Neuman who led the way in front of him. Unable to reel the lead duo in, Myers Jr was able to maintain the final spot on the podium as he tallied a third place finish.

Traveling to Wisconsin on Saturday night for IRA action, Myers Jr and the Velocity Engineering/IPC/RPM Chassis team checked in at Plymouth Dirt Track.

Timing in second fastest in qualifying time trials, Myers Jr flexed his muscle in heat race action as he charged from the fourth starting position to pick up the win.

Moving into the Dash, Myers Jr rolled off from the fourth starting position in Dash No. 2 and his second place finish put him in the second row of the 30-lap feature event.

Wasting no time getting into second, Myers Jr was hot on the race leader’s tail. Making a couple bids for the top spot, Myers Jr made a pass for the lead at the halfway point of the race, but the yellow flag flew and negated his efforts.

Back in second, Myers Jr continued to hound Logan Julien, but when the race ended he took the checkered flag in the second position.

“It was good to be back up in the mix and competing for wins with the Hayward Motorsports team,” Joel Myers Jr said. “Thanks to everyone that continues to support, and keeps us racing as the season starts to wind down.”
