PETERSEN MEDIA: Hayward Motorsports and Joel Myers Jr continue to have a great 2026 as Myers Jr picked up an eighth-place finish with the World of Outlaws on Thursday night in Jacksonville, IL before a runner up finish at Lake Ozark Speedway on Sunday night with POWRi.

“We really have built up a great team, and my guys continue to do a good job of giving me a very good racecar,” Joel Myers Jr said. “Sunday night, we had a car that was good enough to win, I just made a mistake on the last lap and it was costly.”

Heading to Jacksonville Speedway on Thursday night, Myers Jr got the night off to a great start as he timed the Velocity Engineering/Installtec Inc./RPM Chassis backed No. 19 in second fastest in qualifying time trials.

Picking up a heat race win in convincing fashion, Myers Jr moved into the Dash where his seventh-place finish put him in the fourth row for the 40-lapper.

Spending the entire feature event battling inside the Top-10, Myers Jr got up to 4^th in the closing laps but a close call saw him fall back to eighth. Holding down eighth for the final six laps, the Californian closed the night out with a Top-10.

Sunday night the scene shifted to Lake Ozark Speedway as the team went to work with POWRi.

Earning fast time honors in qualifications, Myers Jr went from fourth to third in his heat race and found himself in the third starting position for the feature event.

Moving into second on the race’s second lap, Myers Jr appeared very strong as he pounced on the leader on the sixth lap and began setting a very strong pace out front.

Leading the way, and looking like he was on his way to pocketing his third consecutive win with the series, a slight misstep on the race’s final lap allowed Sam Hafertepe to get by as Myers Jr settled for a second-place finish.

“It was definitely a bummer to not grab another win Sunday, but we were solid from start to finish, and we had a ton of speed,” Myers Jr added.
