Mariah Ede 12th to Close 2025 CA Season

PETERSEN MEDIA: Saturday night in Merced, CA, Mariah Ede was able to sneak in one final race for 2025 in CA before she closes the calendar year out next month during a two week stint in NZ.

“Saturday night went pretty well for the most part,” Mariah Ede said. “We timed in 8th fastest out of the 30 cars that were checked into the pit area and it set us up pretty well for the night ahead.”

With 30 cars on hand for the final winged sprint car race of the season in California, Ede got the night kicked off by timing her Pacific Boring/M&L Plumbing/Circle J5 Ranch backed No. 14 entry in eighth fastest which lined her up on the front row of her heat.

When heat race action rolled around, Ede got into a spirited battle with Dominic Scelzi as they battled for the race lead. Slipping to second as Scelzi was able to get by her on the super-fast racing surface, Ede maintained second which not only locked her into the feature event, but also put her in the ‘Chase for Cash’ which also served as the night’s Dash.

Finishing eighth, the Fresno State University student was locked into the fourth row of the 30 lap feature event.

As the race went green, Ede was able to power her way into fourth in the opening laps as the race settled into a flow. Slipping back to sixth on the 11th lap a late race restart saw Ede get involved in a little bit of the night’s chaos as she fell back to 12th on the 20th lap.

Settling back in, Ede was able to hold the position and close her night out with a 12th place finish and officially bring her racing season in CA to a close.

“It was a bummer to have our night take a bit of a hit on a late restart, but overall it was a promising way for our season to end,” Ede said. “I am really excited for us to head into the offseason and prepare for the 2026 season.”

Mariah Ede and the Mariah Ede Racing team would like to thank Pacific Boring, M&L Plumbing, Circle J5 Ranch, FK Rod Ends, and MetTec Titanium for their support.

ON TAP: Mariah Ede will be idle this weekend before she heads to NZ for four races. She will first be in action on December 5th and 6th at Cromwell.
