Part Failure Dashes Chance Grasty’s Bradway Run
PETERSEN MEDIA- In a race that means so much to the F&F Racing team, Chance Grasty had a great night going until a mechanical failure at the halfway point knocked him out of contention while running inside the Top-5.
“Our night started out great,” Chance Grasty said. “We had good in speed time trials, we raced our way into the Dash, and we were battling inside the Top 5 in the feature. Unfortunately, around the halfway point we lost a power steering line and brought our night to a disappointing end.”
Returning to Chico, CA to take part in the Dave Bradway Jr Memorial, Chance Grasty kicked his night off by timing the Bushey Financial Services/C&H Motor Parts/Sierra Single Ply Roofing backed No. x1 entry in 4th fastest in time trials.
Going from fourth to second in heat race competition, the Suisun City, CA driver locked himself into the HD Titanium Dash where his seventh-place finish locked him into the fourth row of the 40-lap feature event.
When the feature event went green, Grasty got a great start as he quickly jumped into fifth, and got into third on the fifth lap of the race. Amidst a close quarters battle, Grasty was back into fifth on the ninth lap as he settled and clicked off laps amidst the race’s longest run of the night.
On the 21st lap, the caution flew and when the action resumed Grasty fell victim to a power steering line failure and coasted to a stop. With fluid everywhere, his night came to an abrupt end.
“I hate that our night ended like that, not only for our team, but for how much effort Alan (Bradway) and Tooch’s family put into making it a great event,” Grasty added. “We had a ton of speed and I really want to thank everyone on our team as well as our sponsors for making it all possible.”
