Part Failure Hinders Andy Forsberg at Petaluma Speedway
PETERSEN MEDIA: Making one final trip of 2025 to Petaluma Speedway on Saturday night to take part in the track’s season finale, Andy Forsberg looked to be on his way to his 11th win of the season until a part failure late in the race dashed those hopes.
“Petaluma Speedway always does it pretty big for their finale and it was great to get down there and see a really good crowd on hand,” Andy Forsberg said. “We had a really good car, but we had a radius rod stud break, and ended our night.”
Timing the Meridian Cameras/Pacific Highway Rentals/Oroville Tax backed No. 92 in fourth fastest in qualifying, the Auburn, CA driver lined up on the front row of his heat race.
Taking advantage of a mishap in front of him, Forsberg was able to pick up the win and lock himself into the redraw.
Pulling the one, Forsberg got the jump when the race came to life and started to pull away from the field and soon found traffic despite the low car count.
Getting into traffic, Forsberg checked up as he navigated slower traffic and it allowed Chance Grasty to power his way into the top spot.
Chasing after Grasty, Forsberg was able to pounce as Grasty got too tight and he reclaimed the race lead.
Clicking off laps out front, Forsberg felt something let go in his front end and was able to get whoa’d up before making contact with the wall.
“It was a fun night despite the DNF,” Forsberg said. “Just a really cool atmosphere at the track and that always makes such a difference in these nights.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Oroville Tax, Wilkie Masonry, Western Traffic Supply, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, FK Rod Ends, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, MCK, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.
