PETERSEN MEDIA: Back in action after a slight break in his schedule, Paul Nienhiser didn’t miss a beat as he picked up wins on Friday and Sunday night, as well as a fifth-place finish on Saturday night.

“It felt great to get back in the car and get back to racing,” Paul Nienhiser said. “Scott, Zoom, Caleb, and Weston continue to give it their all for me, and I wouldn’t be in this position if it wasn’t for them and their hard work.”

Kicking the weekend off at Lincoln on Friday night for a bout with MOWA, Nienhiser drew the pole for his heat race and never looked back. Racing to the win, he qualified for the redraw and the ‘2’ put him on the front row of the feature event.

Just as he did in his heat race, Nienhiser got a great jump as he fired off of the front row and quickly raced away from the field. In dominating fashion, Nienhiser was able to work his way through the rear of the field and lapped up to fifth as he pocketed his seventh win of the year.

Turning his attention back to his IRA point chase on Saturday night, Nienhiser and his AGRI-YIELD/CAM2 Lubricants/Midland Performance Inc team were in action at Wilmot Raceway.

Getting off to a bit of a slow start as they dealt with an issue in their suspension, Nienhiser timed in 14^th in time trials which then placed him in the third row of his heat race. Finishing fifth in heat race competition, the Chapin, IL driver moved into the feature event where he took the green flag from the 13^th starting position.

Able to get the ship righted for the feature event, Nienhiser was able to overcome his slow start to the night as he made up ground with each lap in the feature event. Getting into the Top-10 quickly, Nienhiser continued to battle as he worked his way to a fifth-place finish when the checkered flag was displayed to the field.

Sunday night brought the end of a busy weekend as the IRA checked in at Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, WI. Going out first in time trials, Nienhiser laid down a very good lap that held up for sixth quick in qualifications.

From the second row of his heat race, Nienhiser wasted no time jumping into the race lead. Getting into the top spot, Nienhiser collected the win and moved into the Dash where the one pill put him on the front row of Dash 2. Grabbing the Dash win, Nienhiser was set to roll from the front row for the 30-lap feature event.

Slipping back to second as the race came to life, Nienhiser kept the leader in his sights as he worked around the slick, wide surface that was offered up for the feature.

Briefly falling back to third as the leaders ran through traffic, Nienhiser went to work on the high side of the speedway and got back into second before a very bold move in traffic saw him take over command of the race lead.

Once out front, Nienhiser left the field in his wake and built up nearly a six second lead until a late caution bunched the field back up. In the race’s final eight laps, Nienhiser was still impressive as he opened his lead up and went on to pick up his second win of the weekend as he re-claimed the IRA season long points lead.

“Sunday night at Angell Park was awesome,” Nienhiser said. “We have been fast there in the past but we never quite had race winning speed. It feels good to get a win here, and it feels great to get Scott back in victory lane for the first time since he grabbed a win with Kevin Doty. Again, I owe all of this to my guys, and I am thankful for all they do.”
