PETERSEN MEDIA: Spending his Memorial Day Weeekend racing in the state of Oregon, Justyn Cox picked up two Top-10 finishes that were highlighted by a fourth place run at the Southern Oregon Speedway in Medford, OR.

“I love racing in the northwest, and am glad we were able to get a couple shows in,” Cox said. “We ran really well, and I am looking forward to getting back up this weekend again.”

Saturday night, at the Southern Oregon Speedway, Cox got off to a nice start as he timed his Berco Redwood/Berry Lumber/Trex backed No. 31c machine in ninth fastest in time trials.

Lining up on the outside front row of his heat race, Cox would get the jump over Garren Linder, and he would race his way to the win, and find himself in the night’s dash.

By way of a fourth place run in the Dash, Cox would line his PM Truck Repair/LRB Race Products/JRI Shocks No. 31c machine up in the second row of the feature event, and would jump into the second spot when the race went green.

Finding a hole in turn two, Cox’s machine would get upset, and he would slip back to the fourth spot, as he then chased after Trey Starks, looking to get back into the Top-Three. Trying several times to get into the third spot, Cox would come home with a fourth place finish.

Heading to the Cottage Grove Speedway on Sunday night, Cox would go out late in the qualifying session, and would end up just making the inversion as he timed in 16th fastest.

Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Cox would have a very nice start, as he jumped into the lead and picked up the win for the second night in a row, however he did not have enough points to become dash eligible.

Gridding the field from the sixth row, Cox got off to a slow start as he looked for open real estate to get his machine moving forward. Staying in the 12th spot, Cox would take advantage of an early restart as he was able to get up into the Top-10.

Getting into the seventh spot before a late race caution, a lapped car would line up in front of Cox, and it would take Cox a lap to clear him, letting the field pull away, as Cox would close his weekend with a seventh place finish.

“Overall it was a really fun weekend,” Cox said. “It was great to get up there and race, and like I said, we are all excited to get back up again this weekend. I have to thank Rod, Dan, Kyle, and my girlfriend Morgan, for all of their hard work.”

The Cox Racing team would like to thank Berco Redwood, Berry Lumber, Trex, PM Truck Repair, LRB, JRI Shocks, Konnected, Sacramento Theatrical Lighting, College Cyclery, JRD Endeavors, VSR, ART, Axcel Race Suits, SafRacer.Com, K&N Performance, Justice Brothers, Cheetah IV Racing, E-ST Garage, Worton Designs, Manzer Motorsports,  and Tim’s Hot Rod Shop for their support in 2015!
