99 Wins and Counting for Garth Kasiner

PETERSEN MEDIA: Following a 2017 season that saw Garth Kasiner score 20 feature event wins and numerous championships, the youngster opened his 2018 in fitting form as he won two Restricted 600 feature events at Port City Raceway in Oklahoma to boost his career win total up to 99.

Kasiner would compete in both the Restricted and 600 class in the three-day event and would have immense success in the Restricted class.

Opening the three-day event up on Thursday night, the Five Points, CA wheelman would advance from fourth to third in his Restricted heat race aboard the West Hills Oil/CS9/SRP backed No. 21G machine.

Moving into the feature event, Kasiner would have his work cut out for himself as he would line up in the fourth row for the 20-lap affair. As many in California have grown accustom to, Kasiner would pass cars at will. Making some big moves, the youngster would surge forward and pocket his 98th career feature event win.

In A Class action, Kasiner would continue to adapt in the power change after making limited starts in the class at the end of 2017. Picking up a win in his heat race, Kasiner would then fight some issues in the feature as he slipped back to finish 11th.

Friday night would be all about passing in the Restricted Class for the youngster. Lining up eighth in his heat race, Kasiner would finish sixth to advance directly into the feature event, though he would be mired deep in the field as he took the green from the 14th starting position.

Amidst a star-studded field, Kasiner would do a fine job of coming through the fray as he quickly jumped into the Top-10. Able to pick up a few more spots, Kasiner would close the feature out by taking the checkered flag with a seventh place finish.

Taking on some of the sports best in the A-Class, Kasiner would continue to get valuable seat time as he scored a sixth place finish in his heat race aboard the Roger Vogt’s Performance Auto and Air/Irritec P1 Drip Tape/Keizer Wheels machine.

Moving into a semi, Kasiner would race from his sixth starting spot to finish fourth in the race, but would unfortunately miss the transfer.

Saturday’s finale saw Kasiner come out swinging as he looked to close his trip up with another win. Lining up in the second row of the feature event, Kasiner left no doubt on this night as he was simply dominant in the feature event.

Turning in an impressive performance, Kasiner would score his second win of the weekend which now gives him 99 in his young career.

Kasiner also turned in an extremely strong performance during the ‘A’ Class finale.

Starting on the front row of his heat race, the 2017 King of California was able to pick up the win and march into the 27-lap feature event.

Lining up sixth in the finale, Kasiner would battle with some of the top-dogs in the 600 scene as he fought for the final position on the podium.

Laying down some great laps, Kasiner would end his busy weekend with a third place finish in the ‘A’ Class feature event.
