PETERSEN MEDIA- Aiden Larimer has easily been the one to beat in the Beginner Box Stock Division at Red Bluff Speedway this winter. Following a second place finish on Saturday, Larimer heads into this Saturday’s finale as the odds on favorite to come away with the series championship.
Saturday at the Tehama County Fairgrounds, young Larimer got his night started off by timing the Cornaggia Farms/Stone Motorsports/Mark Sutton Construction backed No. 5 in sixth fastest amongst the 27 drivers entered in the event.
Getting his night started off with the all important Dash, Larimer would take advantage of the front row starting position and would pick up valuable points as he raced his way to the win.
Lining up the third row of his heat race, the Merced, CA pilot was able to work his way up to a third place finish but with only the top two finishers moving into the feature he would find himself in the ‘B’ Main.
Taking the green flag from the front row, Larimer would wire the field as he led from flag to flag and picked up the win, which moved him into the feature event.
Gridding the field from the fifth row in the feature event, Larimer continued to put his smooth driving style on display just as he has done all winter and was able to use a monster run on the first lap to surge to second.
While running in second, Larimer continued to lay down consistent laps as he was able to grab the lead on the 10th circuit as he chased after his ninth win of the season. With five to go, the battle for the lead was on, and Larimer see the lead slip out of his control as he fell back to the second position where he would eventually finish.
Larimer would like to thank Cornaggia Farms, Stone Motorsports, Great Grandma and Grandpa Rocha, Mark Sutton Construction, Pro Vinyl Graphics, Van Lare Steering Repair, D&L Pump, Guthrie Racing, Uncle Ron, Larimer Family, Margie, Nana and Papa Motorsports, T&T Racing, Doug Lockwood, De Martini Bartending, Pugliese Family, Auntie Mary Motorsports, Nana and Papa, Orozco Gates, Grandma Estell, B’s Racing, Burris Tires, and Petersen Media for their support this season.
