PETERSEN MEDIA- Returning to King of the West action on Saturday night at the Silver Dollar Speedway, Jonathan Allard came alive late in the race as he earned Hard Charger honors after working his way to a fourth place finish after starting the feature event in the 12th spot.

“We timed in right in that funky spot, and were unable to get the heat race win to make the dash,” Allard explained. “We got off to a slow start in the feature, but as the race went on we going pretty good and ended up with a nice Top-Five.”

With 34 cars on hand for the David Tarter Memorial on Saturday night, Jonathan Allard would time the Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt backed No. 3c machine in eighth fastest putting him in the second row of his heat race.

Getting up into the second spot in his heat, Allard would chase after Craig Stidham for the top spot, but came up short though he would transfer directly into the 35-lap feature event.

From the 12th starting spot, Allard would work his way into the Top-10 as he searched around the slick Silver Dollar Speedway surface.

As the race came to a close, Allard’s machine came alive and he began a late charge to the front. Getting by Bud Kaeding, Shane Golobic, and Carson Macedo in the race’s closing stages, Allard would end his night with a fourth place finish.

“We have had our fair share of struggles this year, but we seem to be coming around,” Allard said. “We have had a pretty hard time getting our cars to do what we want, but it’s been a total team effort trying to get it sorted.”

Friday night Allard was also in action at the Silver Dollar Speedway for a night of racing at his home track. Timing in 12th fastest, the Chico, CA would win in heat race from the front row starting position and put his machine in the second row for the feature event.

After a rain storm came through the area track crews worked diligently to get the race in, and they were successful in doing so. Though the added moisture made for an extremely fast track, Allard was able to get into the second spot as he set his sights on the race leader.

Continuing to run in the second spot, contact from another competitor would cause front end damage to Allard’s machine, and his night would come to an early end.

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-31, Wins-4, Top 5’s-14, Top 10’s-19.

ON TAP: Allard will be back at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night for weekly point racing before heading to the Stockton Dirt Track with the King of the West Series on Saturday night.
