Allard Tallies Two More Podium Finishes

PETERSEN MEDIA- Jonathan Allard’s season has not gotten off to the start he had hoped. A lot of hard work and long nights look to be paying off for Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team as JA picked up two podium finishes over the weekend in Chico, CA and Placerville, CA.

“It felt really good to be back up front and contending for wins,” Allard said. “My guys have been working so hard the last two weeks and this weekend I think that showed.”

Taking in a night of racing at the Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Allard would time the Tri C Manufacturing/Walker Performance Filtration/ButlerBuilt  backed No. 3c machine in fourth fastest amongst the 21 cars that were checked into the pit area.

On a locked down surface, Allard would finish third in his heat race and after the redraw he would line up in the second row of the 25-lap A Main event.

A great start would see Allard jump into the second spot as he chased after the race leader, Rico Abreu. The lightning fast surface would see the leaders get into the traffic very fast and that would allow Allard to briefly get by Abreu and take command of the race, though Abreu would come back at him and reassume the top spot.

With Abreu fighting through traffic, Allard would stay with him but an Abreu bobble would force JA to get on the binders and Sean Becker would by him putting him in the third spot where he would eventually go on to finish.

Dropping the 360ci powerplant in on Saturday, Allard and company made the trip to the Placerville Speedway for another night of racing action. Timing in 14th fastest, the Chico, CA driver would pick up a win in heat race action and earn a spot in the nights redraw.

Lining up third in the feature event, Allard would quickly move to second where he again chased after Abreu who was again out front early in this race.

Getting by Abreu at the race’s halfway point, Allard’s move would be negated as the red flag flew and put him back into the second spot. The ensuing restart saw Allard’s engine stumble when the green lights flashed and this allowed third running Mason Moore to get by Allard, dropping him back to third where he would end up finishing.

“Lee and Shane have been working hard and I am glad we were able to run well and reward them for their efforts,” Allard added. “We still have a lot of work to do, but this was a great step for us. Hopefully we can have Clyde and Marion Lamar back in victory lane soon.”

Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, Walker Performance Filtration, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.

2016 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-16, Wins-5, Top 5’s-8, Top 10’s-8.

ON TAP: Allard and the Tri-C Motorsports team will again be at the Silver Dollar Speedway and Placerville Speedway this weekend.
