PETERSEN MEDIA- Jonathan Allard and his Tri-C Motorsports team made a rare visit to the Marysville Raceway on Saturday night, but the team would make it count as Allard won the Gold Fever Open by over 11 seconds on Saturday night.
“We went through some stuff over the week over the last week, and felt really confident heading to Marysville Raceway on Saturday night,” Allard said. “The boys get all the credit because they gave me an awesome racecar.”
With 32 cars on hand for the season finale at the ¼ mile speedway, Allard would time the Tri-C Manufacturing/K&N/ButlerBuilt backed No. 3c machine in second fastest in qualifying time trials.
Finishing second in his heat race, Allard would move into the feature event where he would grid the field from the third starting position. When the green flag dropped, Allard jumped into the second spot as he chased after Andy Forsberg on what was a hooked up Marysville Raceway racing surface.
Chasing after Forsberg in thick lapped traffic, Allard was able to get under him in turns one and two and that would be all he needed as he quickly began gapping the field.
With a couple of cautions slowing Allard’s pace, the veteran driver did not let it phase him as he continued to stretch out his lead and put lead lap cars a lap down. When the checkered flag flew on the race, Allard had lapped up to third place and won with an advantage of 11.241 seconds.
“It has been a trying year for us, so to stand in victory lane and get another trophy for Clyde and Marion Lamar and this team is a good feeling,” Allard added. “Again, I really have to thank my guys for all of their hard work, this would not have been possible without them.”
Allard would like to thank Tri-C Manufacturing, K&N, ButlerBuilt, Amerikote, King Racing Products, BR Motorsports, Red Line Oil, KSE Racing Products, Weld Wheels, NGK Spark Plugs, FK Rod Ends, Hunt Magnetos, Longacre Products, RCM Design, Ti64, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, AL Driveline, and Hoosier Tire for their support.
2015 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-65, Wins-11, Top 5’s-30, Top 10’s-44.
ON TAP: With the start of his New Zealand season quickly approaching, Allard is unsure at this time if he will be able to participate in the PMG season finale event at the Stockton Dirt Track on November 7th.
