Andy Forsberg Fifth at Placerville

PETERSEN MEDIA- With an overflowing pit area making for a very long night, Andy Forsberg and his F&F Racing team put together a strong night at the Placerville Speedway resulting in a fifth place run in a curfew shortened feature event.
“I have been coming to the Placerville Speedway for a very long time, and is not very often the pit area is that full,” Forsberg said. “We time in right in no man’s land with the format, but we raced very well, and ended up with a nice Top-Five finish.”
With 28 winged 360 sprint cars checked into the pit area, Mr. Excitement timed his Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/HRP backed No. x1 entry in seventh fastest, putting him in the second row of his heat race.
Finishing in the third spot in his heat race, Forsberg made the transfer to the feature event, though missing out on the Top-8 redraw forced him to start in the fifth row.
With the feature going green past the curfew, it was apparent that there was a chance the race could get called short, so Forsberg focused on picking up as many spots as he could in a hurry.
Working around the beat up Placerville Speedway, Forsberg methodically worked traffic, as he carved his way forward.
Following a late caution, Forsberg was able to move into the fifth spot, just before the race indeed got checkered short of it’s scheduled distance, giving Forsberg and his F&F Racing team their 10th Top 5 finish of the season in what was there 17th night of action together in 2014.
“It was an odd feature event, and the driver could have been a little better, but we moved forward, and we are looking forward to the Mark Forni Classic in Placerville in on Saturday night,” he added. “The last time the Civil War Series was up here we were fortunate enough to win, so we would certainly love to do that again this weekend.”
F&F Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Pit Stop USA, HRP, CRV, Inventory Sales, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Wilwood, Kaizer Wheels, K&N, Roseville Precision, Autism Speaks, FK Rod Ends, and PT Shocks for their support in 2014.
ON TAP: Forsberg will return to action on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway as he will be in action with the California Civil War Series for the Mark Forni Classic.
