Andy Forsberg Fourth In Placerville Weekly Season Finale

PETERSEN MEDIA- Andy Forsberg led a majority of Saturday night’s feature event in Placerville, CA but contact with a lapped car sent the F&F Racing machine into a spin, but Mr. Excitement was able to hang and finish in the fourth spot.

“We had another really good car, but things got really racy, and really dicey, and we spun, but were able to keep it going,” he said.

With 27 cars on hand for the season finale for weekly competition at the speedway, Forsberg timed his Lucas Oil/Pit Stop USA/HRP backed No. x1 machine in fifth fastest.

Starting in the second row of his heat race, the Auburn, CA pilot worked his way to a third place finish, and found himself with the one pill after the redraw, putting his CRV/Inventory Sales/A.R.T. backed entry on the pole for the season finale feature event.

Leading the field to green, after a caution on the initial start, Forsberg jumped into the early lead as he blasted around the Placerville cushion. Setting a great pace in the early goings of the feature, Forsberg soon felt himself in dicey lapped traffic.

Still with a comfortable lead, Forsberg’s pace was finally slowed as traffic grew thick in front of him, allowing for second running, Justin Sanders to close in on him as the laps clicked away.

On the 19th circuit, a lapped car got into Forsberg, getting him out of shape, and ultimately spinning off the surface, but the veteran driver was able to  keep his machine under power, though he lost several positions.

Gaining back what he could over the final laps, Forsberg came across the stripe with a fourth place finish, and finishing third in the 2014 Placerville Speedway standings.

“The night went a little like our season at Placerville did,” Forsberg joked. “Something out of our control got in out way. I have to thank my guys for continuing to work hard. It has sure been frustrating for all of us.”

F&F Racing would like to thank Lucas Oil, Pit Stop USA, HRP, CRV, Inventory Sales, A.R.T. Speed Equipment, Wilwood, Kaizer Wheels, K&N, Roseville Precision, Autism Speaks, FK Rod Ends, and PT Shocks for their support in 2014.

ON TAP: Forsberg will return to action on Saturday night at the Placerville Speedway for round No. 10 of Civil War action.
