Andy Forsberg Set For First 410ci Start of Season Saturday in Antioch, CA

PETERSEN MEDIA: With a tough night in Merced, CA with the Sprint Car Challenge Tour now behind him, Andy Forsberg and company are looking forward to making their first 410ci start of the season as they will travel to Antioch, CA with the King of the West/NARC on Saturday night.
“It was a pretty lackluster night in Merced, CA,” Andy Forsberg said. “We transferred through our heat race and made the feature, but we started deep and couldn’t really get going. About halfway through the race I decided to call it a night and head back to the trailer since we weren’t really going anywhere.”
With 40 cars on hand at the second Sprint Car Challenge Tour event of the season, Forsberg timed the Meridian Cameras/Pacific Highway Rentals/Wilkie Masonry backed No. 92 in fourth quickest in his qualifying group.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, Forsberg jumped into third on the opening lap, but was back in fourth on the race’s second lap. Needing to stay inside the Top-5 to transfer into the feature, Forsberg would do just that however, each finishing spot changed feature event starting position drastically int eh ‘A’.
Falling back to fifth on the seventh lap, Forsberg took the final transfer position into the feature as he took the green flag from the 18th starting position.
On a very slick Merced Speedway bullring, Forsberg had a tough go in the ‘A’ as he was mired in thick traffic after starting in the back of the pack.
Bouncing between 17th and 20th as he searched around the speedway, Forsberg made the decision to call it a night just before the race’s halfway point, as he quickly turns his attention to NARC/KWS action this upcoming weekend.
In 2023, Forsberg has made the decision to venture around Califonria more than he has in past years and compete at a handful of King of the West/NARC 410ci races.
Saturday night, he will take on the series for the first time this season, and it will kick off back-to-back weeks with the series.
“We are going to mix in as many 410ci races as we can this season, and we will get started with it on Saturday night in Antioch, CA,” Forsberg said. “We have some great people behind us, and we have slowly been working towards running the 410ci more, and we are all excited to get back to more 410ci racing this season.”
Andy Forsberg and PHR Racing would like to thank Meridian Cameras, Pacific Highway Rentals, Wilkie Masonry, PitStopUSA, Red Line Oil, Autism Awareness, Parking and Transportation Group, Western Featherlite, GP Development, 1st Vanguard, Highway Specialty Co., and KBJ Catering for their continued support.
BY THE NUMBERS: Races-6, Wins-1, Top 5’s-3, Top 10’s-4
