Andy Forsberg Sixth at Placerville Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- Making some wholesale changes to their program over the last week, F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg returned to Placerville Speedway where they had a strong night that ended with a sixth place finish on Saturday night.
“I have to hand it to my guys,” Forsberg said. “They worked their tails off all week long to make some wholesale changes and it really seemed to make a world of difference which is great. I have to get better on my end and find some new tricks to work in on these slick tracks but overall it was a fun night back at the track.”
Timing the Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes/Geico Local Office/PitStopUSA backed No. x1 entry in fifth quickest of the 24 cars checked in for a night of weekly points racing at the speedway.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver lived up to his ‘Mr. Excitement’ billing as he made a couple of daring moves on the race’s opening lap to grab the top spot.
Running away with the heat race while out front, Forsberg would go on to pick up the win and make his way into the nightly redraw. With Lady Luck not on his side on this night, Forsberg would see the eight pill surface which meant he would roll off the starting grid from the fourth row.
The slick Placerville surface would create some havoc on this night and lead to quite a few restarts that seemingly disrupted the flow of the feature event. Running solidly in the Top-Five much of the night, Forsberg would race with drivers like Sean Becker and Mike Benson at times during the feature event.
With the track continuing to grow more challenging over the course of the race, Forsberg would admittedly struggle to make something happen.
A couple of late restarts would not go in Forsberg’s favor and he would go on to cap a solid night with a sixth place finish.
“As the race went on, I just made some mistakes that cost us a couple of positions,” Forsberg noted. “Definitely night and day different than how things have been and I am looking forward to building off this night as we head back up to Placerville on Saturday. Again, huge thanks to the F&F guys for all of their hard work this week, I really feel like it paid off and made a difference.”
F&F Racing and Andy Forsberg would like to thank Econo Lube-n-Tune and Brakes, Geico Local Office, PitStopUSA, Lucas Oil, Pacific Highway Rentals, Autism Awareness, FVP, and CRV Carbon Solutions for their support in 2018.
