PETERSEN MEDIA- Making his season debut at Silver Dollar Speedway on Friday night, Andy Forsberg and the F&F Racing team picked up a sixth-place finish during the weather shortened Silver Cup.
“It was your typical March night at the track,” Andy Forsberg said. “It was hooked up fast, we just really didn’t have anything for anyone. Thanks to the guys for all their work, and thanks to the track for getting the show in with all that is going on, and the weather that rolled into town.”
With 33 cars on hand on Friday night, Forsberg would time the C&H Motor Parts/Bushey Financial Services/Huggins Cams backed No. x1 machine in third quickest in qualifying time trials.
Lining up in the second row of his heat race, the Auburn, CA driver would transfer through his heat by way of his third-place finish which also qualified him for the redraw. Pulling the eight, Forsberg found himself in the fourth row to kick off the 40-lap feature event.
On the hooked up, lightning fast Silver Dollar Speedway surface, Forsberg kept his F&F Racing machine solidly in the Top-10 but wasn’t really able to make a charge forward.
Flirting with the Top-Five, Forsberg would fall as far back as the eighth position before working his way back forward and capping the 2020 Silver Cup with a sixth place finish.
“We were just a little off, but still had a pretty decent showing,” Forsberg said. “The guys will keep working hard, and we will be back soon.”
